Sellers original description:
The last Humber Hawk models were released in 1957 with a large, attractive unitary body and American influenced styling. The same 2267cc OHV four-cylinder engine was used in all models and production ceased in 1967 with just over 15,000 produced.
This car is a 1964 “B” registered MK3 Humber Hawk with four-speed column change gearbox. It is in outstanding and very original condition – possibly the best one left on the road. The mileage is correct at just 19,000 from new and it has had just three owners, the first from 1964 until 1989 and the second who used it as a Sunday car until he died in 2008.
We sold this car to its last owner two and a half years ago; it has formed part of a private collection and been on display in the showroom of a dealer group that sold these cars new. As you would expect at this mileage, mechanically and cosmetically, this car is A1. The interior is in beautiful original condition and on the road, this car is tight and sweet with a slick gear change and a generally “like new” feel to the controls.
When we sold this car two years ago, we carried out an £850.00 brake overhaul including new servo, wheel cylinders and a rebuilt master and it has covered only 500 miles since then. More recently, the engine oil, axle oil and gearbox oil have been changed, as have the plugs and points. It is now ready for use and I have just completed a 150 mile journey in it. Suitable for the collector or the show circuit, great to drive, a very good investment and something of a find!
The history file includes, original manual, brochure and service book, old and new log-books and various bills.
