An original, low mileage, Ford Cortina Mk4 2000 Ghia is offered for sale. Owned and driven by the same gentleman for 33 years, this example represents a truly unique opportunity to own an unmolested and fully documented vehicle.
The vehicle was ordered by Mr Attard on the 4th February 1978 through Ford Main Dealers Gowrings in Reading. The signed order shows the vehicle initially being ordered as a 1600 Ghia but after careful consideration, he decided to buy the 2000 Ghia. The invoice 3 months later in May 1978 totals £4147.98 with the Factory Specification and Dealer Fitted Accessories clearly listed. The car was registered on the 1st June 1978 to Mr Attard and 18 years later in 1996 to his wife, Mrs Jean Attard. The Vehicle Registration Document is copied in the file to prove husband and wife ownership. Mr Attard, however, remained the sole driver and careful custodian of the car.
Finished in Metallic Roman Bronze with a Tan Vinyl roof- the Cortina looks stunning. All the chrome work gleams and the bright wheel rim embellishers are undamaged. The glass is the original tinted Ghia only finish still with the car registration number etched on them. On the 3rd July 1978 the vehicle had Ziebart Vehicle Rustproofing carried out and the Guarantee Certificate is included in the complete history file. There is no corrosion anywhere on the vehicle and it has been garaged throughout its entire life. All badges remain including the identifying Ghia crests on each of the front wings. The Roman Bronze metallic paintwork has been touched in over the cars 33 years but as the photos show this does not detract from the excellent appearance.
The interior is finished in the Ghia only Tan Crushed Velour and Verona Fabric inserts. Every piece of interior trim is present and undamaged including the wood veneered door cappings and the full width wood veneered fascia trim. All instrumentation including the tachometer, 5 push button MW/LW radio and quartz clock operates perfectly.
An amazing and comprehensive history file is included with this Ford Cortina 2000 Ghia Mk4. Every MOT from new is included combined with numerous service invoices. This will leave no doubt to this vehicle’s genuine low mileage and authenticity. All handbooks, service books and spare keys are included.
