Sellers original description:

Very rare and truly superb Land rover Series 3 petrol that has just undergone restoration. It was rebuilt on a galvanised chassis in the late 90s and underwent a comprehensive nut and bolt restoration with a file of photos and receipts to back this up.

The most special thing about this Landy is the service history and every mot from new and a big pile of receipts amounting to tens of thousands.

It even has the original service book stamped up to 23989 miles. When I looked through the documentation it took my breath away and I then knew that this Landy deserved only the best.

So,as the body was already superb there was not many dings to take care of. It was mainly body prep for the beautiful respray that took place last week at the local body shop. They did such a super job it's not far off concourse!

Footwells required a small amount of welding either side and was carried out by a local engineer who rebuilds bulkheads. In fact he can make just about anything out of metal.

Bulkhead was immaculate, expected of a low mileage vehicle that has been looked after and kept dry.

In short the body is truly amazing!!

Next thing was underneath. Well I was under it for nearly a week cleaning it thoroughly then applied many coats of rustolleum to the axels and any other metal in view. I did leave the chassis as it really is immaculate which one would expect from a galvanised one.

Swivels are as new and shocks fairly recent.

Engine and gearbox is completely original with all numbers matching. With only 35000 genuine miles, they are as they left the factory with an engine that sounds quiet, pulling away as it should mated to a smooth gearbox.

Inside is just as super as outside, having been sprayed NATO green gloss. New seats, gaiters, door seals and land rover mats make driving it a pleasure.

On the back the canvas is very nice and inside got the same royal treatment as the rest.

There is a useful adjustable tow bar with electrics.

Engine bay is very clean as can be seen in the photos.

Has nearly full mot with no advisories and full free tax.

I'm not going to list all the new parts but needless to say look at the photographs and it speaks for itself.

All in all this is a wonderful opportunity to buy a real classic show piece with amazing documented history having been owned only 3 previous times with 2 being father and son. I believe this to be one of the best examples around, and for sure the best I've ever seen or been lucky enough to lay my hands on.

This really is a special one.
