Sellers original description:
1964 Consul Capri.
This car is in beautiful condition having been recently restored throughout and returned to the road, after being garaged for almost 20 years!
The car was stripped and resprayed back in the early 90's, the front wings and one sill were replaced along with new front jacking points. she was painted and then returned to the owners garage or him to put back together which unfortuantly never happened. Since it came out it has been resprayed due to some slight damage caused by the storage. There was no rust to repair whatsoever which for a car of this age is amazing, all panels were removed and sprayed inside out and the engine bay was also done as well.
Mechanically, all new copper brake pipes and unions, flexi hoses, rear wheel cylinders, shoes, front caliper seals, pistons and pads fitted, rebuilt master cylinders and slave, engine has been fully serviced and painted. All the suspension and axle have been cleaned, wire brushed and painted black and the underside was blacked with waxoil underseal.
Both bumpers have been rechromed as have the door handles, boot lock and all the roof gutter sections around the side windows. All other chrome and stainless is original and has been polished up. There is very slight pitting on screen surrounds and quarterlight frames but considering how old it is they are very clean really.
Interior has had new front seat covers, rear seat base and headliner and carpet also dashtop was recovered and all interior metalwork was resprayed. The doorcards and rear vinyl are original and as such is a slightly different colour to the new seats.
This is a beautiful original capri and drives very well. it has to be one of the most solid ones left as they are getting very thin on the ground now. It's got a long mot and is obvouisly tax exempt, pulls looks every time its taken out and is much admired!
