Sellers original description:
Reputedly the second oldest in existence, this rarer ‘big brother’ to the Herald is an amazing find. The car was with one family (brother and sister) until the 1980’s when it was sold on via the servicing garage to a fellow customer who has owned and cared for the car since. There is some interesting history with the vehicle including an original Standard Triumph service book, sales pamphlet etc as well as more up to date literature. With a known and completely traceable history since new, the mileage is warranted at just 25,000. As an original, completely unspoilt vehicle which had never suffered at the hands of tinkerers, a thorough, but sympathetic refurbishment ( extensively photographed) has been carried out by ourselves to rejuvenate the appearance and restore the original finishes. Works include a bare metal repaint in the original Lichfield Green colour, boot and engine bay detailing- a major undertaking with one of these , and a strip and re polish of the wood to lose the cracks which always appeared with the highly glossed finish. The Mid Green upholstery (which had previously been protected with woollen covers) is lovely and ‘as new’, plus a carefully preserved and cleaned original patterned carpet must be an exceptionally rare period feature. Other rarities include under dash supplementary gauges, original wireless and a static chrome ariel. The overall result is a unique, small family classic- a feast for the eyes, this car will steal the attention at any motoring event.
