For those who are not aware the Porsche 928 GT is a manual only performance version of the S4 with close ratio gearbox, an additional 10bhp, a higher torque band, wider wheels, stiffened suspension and quicker ratio steering. The car is capable of 5.6 0-60 time and a 13.8 1/4 mile with Porsche claimed top speed of 171 mph!!
For the purist this is the ultimate drivers 928. The GTS that followed was sold nearly exclusively as an automatic and was prone to engine leaks due to the larger bored engine suffering porous piston liners!
To quote Autocar and Motor 23rd August 1989 "the latest interpretation of the 928 theme is a car of towering abilities. It's a devastatingly quick road car and one that is a pleasure to drive - it's almost as easy to drive and as forgiving as any hot hatch. The tremendous punch of the smooth V8 engine are matched by a chassis of outstanding competence. The combination wont bite back unless severely provoked... its rawness gives it a sporting appeal that has been lost in the clinical functionalism of the S4."
The car was originally supplied by Malaya Porsche Billinghurst, West Sussex on the 16th October 1989 to Mr Michael D********** who kept the car for 7 months before selling it to Mr Elias J **********who kept the car until I purchased it in May 2000. The car at this time had covered approximately 22,000 miles. I was informed that the car had always been kept in private underground car park in London.
The car has been kept in a heated garage and has been used only on dry days.
This is probably the most original and best example left in the country !
