Once in a lifetime chance to purchase what has to be the best Peugeot 406 Turbo Diesel outside of a museum. I've only owned the car for a short time and I feel that she deserves a better owner than me to preserve the condition and unique quality of this very special car.
She has:
Spotless cream leather, heated drivers and passenger seats which are electrically adjusted forward/back, up/down, backrest angle with manual wheel for lumbar adjustment.
Air conditioning, as well as a/c there's also the electrically operated tilt 'n' slide sunroof.
Radio/cassette with 6-cd changer in the boot, with quality speakers and front tweeters give superb sound and has remote control for stereo via stalk on steering column.
External temperature indicator (handy to warn of freezing conditions when it isn't always obvious), headlamp washers with internal height adjustment (you can lift them a notch when you leave town to improve long-distance visibility). The headlamps themselves have Peugeot plastic shields to prevent any stones from breaking the glass.
Automatic rain-sensing wipers which go from intermittent to full fast speed wipe depending on conditions.
It goes without saying there is remote central locking and all-round electric windows.
All tyres are good as are the alloys with locking wheel nuts.
The whole interior is unmarked and has original Peugeot rubber mats, ashtray never used, good spare, all tools and Peugeot gloves to keep you hands from marking the interior should you be unfortunate enough to have to change a wheel.
There is more than full main-dealer service history with the book overflowing with stamps, she has been serviced about annually regardless of the miles, including, from memory, two cambelt changes. Apart from the service stamps, I also have receipts for all services and every MOT certificate, so there is absolutely no disputing the extraordinary 29k mileage from new (mileage may increase slightly as I haven't collected my new car yet so still using her daily. The picture shows the mileage just after I bought the car so I'm ashamed to say that I have put on 2500 miles in three months. This is one reason why I want the car to go to someone who will perhaps only take her out for a gentle drive on Sundays rather than using it everyday as I do.
As you would expect, she starts and drives impeccably without any known or obvious faults, if you are at all concerned I would welcome you to send AA or RAC to inspect.
Security wise, there is a keypad immobiliser, if you are brave enough to use it and it can be programmed to only allow certain functions, but not all, if you take it to a garage for instance or, heaven forbid, lend to a friend. This is all in the owners handbook, but if you mess with it and it goes wrong it'll cost an absolute arm and leg to get Peugeot to sort it out for you, so I've always left well alone and not used it.
