Sellers original description:
1963 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 FHC. Completely rebuilt by the last but one owner during the 90’s when nothing was left to chance. Stripped to a bare shell, new floors, and panels (including bonnet)fitted wherever necessary. Complete mechanical rebuild to include engine, gearbox, drivetrain, rear axle/subframe, braking system, rewired, new glass, interior, new weather seals, wheels refurbished, new Dunlop (cross ply) tyres
We have a detailed and very comprehensive, documented history file for this car including a photographic record of the rebuild. This car has been properly rebuilt, but not overly-restored to the point where it cannot be used (unlike so many). Very few (dry only) miles have been covered since the rebuild was completed. To drive this E type performs exactly as it should. Engine is very lively and tight, the Moss gearbox is precise, as are the brakes and steering. Everything has been renewed carefully resulting in a very useable investment that can be immediately enjoyed
Only three former owners since 1981, there is also a very interesting history with one of the owners, a Chinese owner in London losing this car in a game of poker in the 1980’s. Mileage reading is 25000 however whilst the old MOT’s present in the history file back this reading up, we cannot guarantee the reading as genuine. Less than 5000 miles since the rebuild was completed.
