1983 Jaguar XJ6 3.4
(Featured on 27th May 2014)
Make: Jaguar
Model: XJ6
Year: 1983
Sellers original description:
The Series 3 XJ6 arrived in 1979 with body by Pininfarina and although the styling remained unmistakably Jaguar XJ, the car came with an entirely new bodyshell.
This car is a Series 3, 3.4 5 speed manual with “Rachelle” cloth trim. A very rare combination, as Jaguar ceased production of the manual XJ6 in 1981 so this car came as a special order and is also fitted with the rare option of a factory steel sliding sunroof. It is in outstanding condition – equaling the best I have sold over the last 10 years, completely rust free and immaculate and original underneath. It is also something of a revelation on the road and much slicker to drive than the automatic version. The mileage is under 60k and this is in part due to a 15 year period in dry storage until 2011, when it was expensively re-commissioned with two new Jaguar front wings, a high quality repaint, new headlining, refurbishment of the “Kent” alloys and various mechanical jobs.
This rare and beautiful Jaguar XJ6 is ready to use with tax until the end of July 2014 and will be supplied with a fresh MOT. The attractive 5 digit number stays with the car.
