Sellers original description:

URW 830 is a beautiful XK150 special equipment fixed head coupe finished in the stunning colour scheme of Carmen red over red hide interior. Meticulously maintained throughout its life, this is a wonderful driving car that can be enjoyed straight away.

An original right hand drive car, registered in July 1958, this XK has an interesting history. With just 4 former keepers, its second owner acquired the car in the early 1960s and kept it for more than 20 years, during which time he replaced the Borg Warner gearbox with a 4 speed manual Moss box, and the 3.4l engine with a 3.8l – more fitting for this sporting Jaguar.

The car was bought by Martin Heaps in 1984, who was also to keep the car for more than 20 years. Mr Heaps travelled to Pennsylvania just a year after buying URW 830 and took it with him, where he continued to cherish it and keep it in very good order. During this time it was treated to fresh paint, and rolling restoration of all mechanical parts including wiring, brakes, and all new chrome.

Mr Heaps sold the car to Mr Field in 2010 who repatriated it and continued to improve it with a new bas interior, new brakes, and a 5 speed Getrag manual gearbox. Most recently a brand new stainless steel exhaust was fitted in March 2013. URW 830 now sounds as good as it looks, is on the button and ready to be taken anywhere.

If you’re looking for an accomplished European tourer, or a fitting partner for Goodwood Revival, then URW 830 is surely worth a closer look.
