(Featured on 20th March 2011)
Make: Ford
Model: Anglia
Year: 1959
Sellers original description:
Nicknamed "Old Git" a show winning much loved and cherished 100E.
This Ford Anglia 100e was subject to a complete bare shell restoration with the body being completely stripped to make a perfect job. The restoration work was done to such a level that it was featured in a 4 page colour article on how to restore an Anglia in a national classic car magazine. We have a copy of this magazine in the vehicles detailed history file, also in the file are enlarged photo's of the original owner back in 1959 standing proud with his new acquisition.
The car starts on the button every time, we have recently overhauled the brake system, fitted new cylinders and hoses and replaced all fluids. The car has only covered approx 2000 miles in the last 7 years and a new mot with no advisories has also been put on him. I say "him" as searching through the cars history the restorer of the car nicknamed this lovely 100e "Old Git"
Interior:
The interior is superb, having benefited from all new paint, new carpets, the seats and doorcards have all been restored to an excellent standard.
Exterior:
The paintwork is fantastic and a joy to polish being painted in its original colours. The paintwork has stood the test of time very well having been applied in 1998. There are only a couple of tiny imperfections in the paint but nothing you would want to mess with to improve. The panels are beautifully straight and door gaps spot on. All the brightwork is in superb order.
Wheels:
The original wheels and trims are all in excellent order. The tyres have had very little use and are as new.
Engine:
The engine and engine bay are both immaculate and clean and would stand proud at any car show !
