1986 Ford Granada 2.8i V6 Scorpio Automatic. 1 Owner from new. 34,000 miles with every old MOT certificate. Immaculate condition inside and out.
This was the top of the range Ford in 1986 and quite rare as they only produced the 2.8i EFi model from May 1985 until November 1986. Regency red metallic with raven velour trim (leather was not available until 1987). Power steering, ABS brakes, central locking with high security Chubb locks (both keys present), electric windows, air conditioning, electric heated mirrors, electric sunroof, electric front heated seats, electric reclining rear seats, Ford ECU2 radio/cassette with amplifier & graphic equaliser (very 80's), adjustable steering column for rake & reach, headlamp wash, fog lights, alloy wheels etc etc.
The Granada was 1st registered on 23rd September 1986 and the owner retired in 1990 and the car was used very sparingly hence the low mileage. I have every MOT certificate from new, it has always been MOT'd so there are no gaps.
Mechanically the car is, as you would expect perfect, it is like driving a 3 year old car. I have just changed the oil & filter, antifreeze replaced, checked the valve clearances, changed the brake fluid, replaced the spark plugs, fitted a new quality battery with 3 year warranty and checked all levels. I have fitted 4 new tyres as the car was still on origonal Michelin MVX's with good tread but the side walls were starting to dose due to old age. The engine is very smooth with no tappet noise at all, the gearbox again changes so smoothly you cannot notice unless you use kickdown, the differential in completely quiet. The brakes are perfect, the suspension is free from any rattles or noises and the shocks are completely dry.
Inside is like looking into a 1 year old car is the Ford showroom, the cloth headcloth is perfect, unmarked and no sagging, the carpets and seats are completely unmarked, all the electical toys function perfectly.
Underneath the Granada is immaculately clean and has never been welded, the tyres are all new and the exhaust is in excellent condition, the rear silencer has been replaced at some time. There are no leaks from engine, gearbox or differential. The body work is exceptional with no scratches or dents anywhere, the rear wheelarchs are exceptional (I have enclosed photo's of these), The car has had some paintwork in the past 24 years but it has been done extremely well. It still wears it's origonal Ford dealer number plates, rear window sticker & Ford tax disc holder.
This is an exceptional Granada Scorpio and would suit a Ford enthusiast. I know it is not worth a fortune because it is a Mk3 Granada (Just think what you would have to pay for a MK1/2 Ghia with 34,000 miles and 1 Owner in immaculate condition) but it will look stunning at shows or to use every day.
