Seldom will you ever get the chance to own such a beautiful car, quite simply this car is in stunning condition and a credit to its one owner from new who is a former Xantia columnist for the Citroen Car Club so it was in the best possible hands to be kept to this standard (just to be exact it was previously registered to the supplying dealer (Broad's of Watford).
To any of you that are regular attendees of Citroen Car Club events it will be well known to you. The car won the National Rally in 2008 and 2009 but the owner declined taking it in the following years as in his words "I was a bit embarrassed so just took it on the non judging day of the show", he took it again this year as it was the 20th Anniversary of The Xantia - guess what? It won again! Indeed if I was not judging the best Xantia at the recent CX, XM and Xantia Rally it would have won that too (would get lynched if I chose my own car so did not enter it!). All the awards come with the car. I could easily say it is the best Xantia in the country but I do know of another of similar quality but I can safely say those two cars are the best two Xantia's.
Most of the Xantia's we see at the shows are 3 litre's or Activa's so it is so nice that this car which Citroen will have produced as an economical workhorse found it's way into cosseted ownership as it is the 1.9 Diesel in the highest spec available then being the VSX coming with aircon (ice cold). Leather seats and corresponding door cards are fitted although these were put in when it was 6 years old, the original Alcantara/cloth seats and door cards are with the car and are in mint condition as they were only used for 23k. It is amazing to see Alcantara seats like these as they all seem to be worn out on other cars.
The car comes with a fastidious service record with every detail listed. I shall just report the recent activity of note. New timing belt and service in July this year at 37815 miles (this was shortly before passing to me and I have enjoyed just over 1,000 miles in it so the current mileage is 39,110. At 36,550 new windscreen. At 36,143 new front discs and pads, spheres as necessary. At 34084 new radiator complete new exhaust, Total quartz oil and filter. At 32089 4 new Michelin xh1 energy tyres and just to show how well it has been looked after the timing belt was also changed at 27698! The list goes on and on.
It has every single MOT from new and will come with MOT to October 2014 .Currently taxed until the end of September.
Everything works. It has never had any paint rectification ie it is all original and superb, i have known this car for many years and studying it very hard i can see just a couple of minute marks.
In years to come you will regret not buying this unless of course you do.
The colour is rare these days, it is Sable.
It can easily be used every day or just taken to shows (as long as you do not get too embarrassed at winning !).
Quality like this is seldom offered so price can not be compared as there is nothing to compare it too!
