EXTERIOR:

This high specification Super Sprint is finished in optional cost Jet Black Paint and according to the original brochure adds 2kg to the weight of the car! All weather equipment remains in perfect condition and the FIA roll bar add safety. Truly exceptional with tiny markings to the cycle wings and a small ding to the top of the delicate lightweight aluminium bonnet. Copy photographs of the vehicle being factory built and delivered to the owner in the Caterham lorry are a wonderful part of the history file. This vehicle has never been raced and formed part of a valuable private collection. Wonderful.

INTERIOR:

Beautifully appointed with the expensive and optional black leather adjustable seats and contrasting Caterham green four point harnesses leave no doubt of the sporting pedigree this machine offers. A comprehensive list of factory options were fitted, even extending to a heated front screen and two speed heater so weekend tours are fun but comfortable. No damage or wear can be seen and all controls and gauges function correctly. The Racetech quick release steering wheel is feather light and echoes the ethos behind the build of this car- raw energy, style and precision engineering.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:

Fitted with the uprated Ford Crossflow 1700 engine with twin Weber 40 DCOE carbs this engine produces 135bhp at 6000rpm giving 0-60 in just 5.6 seconds. A Techcraft Motorsport stainless steel competition manifold and silencer creates a glorious sounding and great looking Caterham too. A recent electric fuel-pump conversion, service and replacement of all hoses by specialists adds to the impressive service log. Importantly the practical enthusiast wanting to service and maintain their toy can do so without the need for electronic diagnostic tools but equally, specialist care is very economical. The 5-speed gearbox provides short, accurate shifts.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES:

Factory Silver 14” Minator KN wheels with polished rims and Caterham Seven centre caps, shod with excellent as new Bridgestones inspire confidence. The rear mounted spare is unused. Powerful brakes coupled with adjustable factory fitted Bilstein dampers complete the handling package.

HISTORY FILE:

A perfect history file completes the offering. Factory built and delivered by the Caterham lorry in January 1996, (photos of the occasion in the file), to the first owner who, like the subsequent four custodians, kept the vehicle impeccably maintained to exacting standards. All invoices remain chronologically filed and the Caterham service book is fully stamped. Recent expenditure amounting to £1,149 includes amongst other items the synchronisation and balancing of the carburettors. The vehicle has only covered 17,234 miles.
