This car is an unbelievable find!
It is a one owner from new car with only 40000 genuine miles covered.
The car was ordered in 1983 and arrived and was registered in February 1984 on an early “A” registration. (That is 30 years old next year). It was supplied in Green Metallic with complimentary Green valour trim. This was the pinnacle of luxury in 1983! But it didn’t stop there. It also came with Power Steering, Electric windows and central locking…..
An unbelievable package of specification, and one not to be sniffed at in a more modern car.
It was delivered by The Chorley Auto Company to Mr Bretherton who kept it until he stopped driving, at which point I purchased the car. This was April this year. In this time it covered just 40000 genuine miles and was looked after all its life via the main agent and the local specialist. All the genuine original hand books and service book showing the PDi and first couple of services is present, the rest of the history is unfortunately not complete but does have lots of invoices to show work carried out.
In addition to this, the car has just had a new cambelt kit fitted and has had some work carried out to the brakes.
The car is ready to drive away and comes with a current MOT and is taxed until the end of October.
Mechanical:
The mechanics of this car are superb! It starts first time every time. It runs and stops as you would expect and it doesn’t leak any fluids. I can’t honestly think of anything this car requires from a maintenance point of view!
Bodily:
The car was wax oiled from new!
This means it really has stood the test of time. It has potentially had paint over the years but I really can’t fault it. It’s got a dent (please see photo) on the passenger door, however it will be having a dent man look this week and dependent on the results I will post a follow up on this. If in doubt please treat the car as you see the photos.
Further than this there is NO rot underneath and from what I can see nothing to concern yourself with at all on the car.
Interior
Period would be a good way to start, but immaculate.
It has green checked valour and as mentioned earlier quite a lot of spec. It also has an original MW/LW radio! This works once you pull the aerial up.
In addition the cars engine bay and boot are superb.
All electrics, central locking etc work as you would expect and the inside is as genuine as they come.
General:
This car has pedigree, history and is presented as honestly and open as can be.
It has not been molested and updated like a lot of examples! that is if you can find another!
It’s a 30 year old classic with an £88 a year insurance premium.
It has no mechanical defects, has covered 40000 miles from new and is taxed and tested.
It’s an odd colour, but an original early 80’s cult car.
It’s a rare, in fact very rare opportunity to own a piece or Audi history and to find one in this condition (if you want one) is priceless.
