Here with deep regret i have for sale my volvo 164 automatic in gold metallic.
She has had £20,000 spent on her in the past 15 odd years and it shows in the condition.
Also been magazine featured in 2012 see the picture on here, she has been pampered By all of her previous owners, including myself, you will be hard pushed to find one In this condition as they are thin on the ground. With a a4 thick folder full to the brim With invoices and history ect.
Mot april 2014 no advisorys last year and none for the last 7 mot's taxed till may 2014.
EQUIPMENT:
Quartz-halogen headlights, anti-intrusion reinforced doors, manual steel sunroof, hazard warning lights, Volvo mud-flaps, chrome wing mirrors, tinted glass, dimmer controlled instrument lighting, ribbon-type speedometer, seat belt warning light, electric clock, heated rear window, cigarette lighter, illuminated glove-box, seat storage pockets, rear armrest, driver/passenger lumbar support, rear child locks, lights in boot and engine compartment, chrome locking fuel cap.
EXTERIOR:
This Volvo 164 is a lovely finished in Gold Metallic,can only to be described as a mirror shine due nearly 3k ‘trim off’ repaint commissioned by the previous fastidious owner by a professional body shop.
This was done nearly 3 years ago an still looks pristine due to always being garaged and regularly polished.
Factory correct in every respect the exterior trim, badging, mirrors and chrome is near perfect with only a few stone chips to the tips of the front & rear bumper.
The original front screen has a few minor markings, there is a tiny bit of misting in the bottom corners very small but I am being very picky for a original windscreen.
No dings or scuffs or marks anywhere on the body.
The original Volvo dealer supplied black pressed aluminium plates are still fitted.
INERIOR:
The interior of this Volvo 164 is outstanding and factory correct.
Specified in matching and genuine Gold Metallic Leather, this executive environment is truly wonderful. All the leather door cards, trim, roof lining and carpeting
are clean and free from damage. The seats have some age related creases and are lovely. All the switch gear, gauges and electrical items all work as they should, however, the radio has power but no sound.
The boot area is pristine and still has the original spare tyre, tools and protective lining.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
The B30A six cylinder in-line unit is very quiet thanks in part to a seven-bearing crankshaft. It has twin horizontal carburettors that have been reconditioned .
A maintained and detailed engine bay. All looks very nice and performs very nicely.
A fully automatic transmission very smooth and all working as it should.
The selector has a lighted indication of the gear selected.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES, EXHAUST:
Original and pristine 15” steel wheels with mirror finish Volvo hubcaps and embellishers on all four wheels. Correct Michelin ZX 165 HR15 tyres are fitted with little wear. Disc brakes all round ensure fantastic stopping power for such a substantial vehicle. The exhaust is very sound indeed, only grumble is a light tap from the back box now and again on slow tick over and when turning the engine off sometimes, it needs a minor adjustment but it was not worth bothering with in my opinion as it is not annoying enough to have it messed with.
HISTORY IN BREIF:
Supplied new on the 1st September 1972 to a Mr Langley it remained in his care until April 1989 when the second long-term custodian, Mr Bailey took ownership. A truly Volvo 164 enthusiast, Mr Bailey owned two identical, pristine examples,The third owner, Mr Sutton, took ownership in June 2011. The fourth and final owner, Mr Conway decided recently to part with her for a smaller car after the loss of storage space and him feeling the car too special for outside life. An incredible history filed in order leaves no doubt how cherished this Volvo 164 is. press cuttings, period road tests, brochures, photos all enhance the ownership experience.
