Sellers original description:
This superb example of an Austin 1100 automatic has only covered a genuine 21453 miles.
It was bought new in 1972 by the local Austin dealer in Bridlington, Buckrose Motors Ltd, for the use of his elderly mother. The car was registered to Buckrose Motors and it still retains the original dealer sticker in the rear window and the dealer plaque on the dashboard. The history file contains an original V5 log book showing these details.
After the elderly lady died the car was on show in the dealer's showroom for many years until 1996 when it was consigned to H & H Classic Car Auctions to be sold. The history file contains paperwork from this auction showing that the mileage at that time was a genuine 5869.
Since then it has been owned by two ladies until being acquired by an enthusiast in 2011 who has recently decided to reduce his classic collection. The documentation file contains the details of this ownership history, the original Service Book and service invoices along with seventeen MOT certificates showing the low annual increase in mileage up to the present genuine reading of 21453.
An MOT examination was carried out in May 2013 and the car passed with one advisory notice which stated that the tyres were slightly perished and so four new tyres were fitted. The MOT now runs until April 2014 and the Free Historic Road Tax that runs until May 2014 is on the windscreen.
The Austin 1100 is well supported by the www.the1100club.com who can be relied upon to help keep these wonderful historic cars on the road.
The buyer will be happy and proud to be seen in this car at any of the classic car rallies that are held throughout the year and it is likely to prove to be an excellent investment.
